The Iguanid Empire is the expansionary nation of the Iguanids. It borders the Tritonid Dominion to the west, with the trade city of Maxehiq at the border. The Empire's territories consist mainly of volcanic archipelagos and a larger, mostly uninhabited landmass covered in rainforest.
The Iguanid heartland is littered with geothermal vents and tunnels laden with subterranean lava pools. There, they use the fires and heat to forge metal -- unlike any other nation -- and use their technological prowess to develop new inventions by studying Terran and Builder Technology, and synthesising them to create Iguanid Technology. Their scientists are secretive, carrying out (sometimes dangerous) experiments to push the boundaries of the Empire's greatness even further.
Besides from the Iguanids who live here, the only other people who are trusted the empire are the Korbak, who work as scribes, priests and artisans, having fully embraced life in the Empire after their great diaspora. In the Empire, everyone is expected to revere the All-Mother, The Eternal Empress, who's the supreme and immortal ruler of the Iguanid people. Dissidence is not tolerated.
While not hostile, the Empire is deeply distrusting of the faithless outsiders. They are allowed within the Empire's territories, but they are subject to much scrutiny and xenophobia if they do not appear to embrace the Empire's ideals and treat the Empress with enough reverence. The Empire possesses a fleet of steam-powered vessels and unparalleled military might, though they do not desire war: only to defend their knowledge and greatness.
